Job Description:

As a Systems Engineer, you play a key role in developing the next generation of our milking robots. You will work on complex, multidisciplinary systems that are used daily around the world and directly contribute to more efficient, sustainable, and animal-friendly dairy farming.
Within Product Development, you are the one who keeps the bigger picture in focus. You connect different engineering disciplines, bring structure to complexity, and ensure that system-level decisions are well-founded. In doing so, you help teams work together to create the best possible solutions.
You will be involved in both the development of new product generations and the continuous improvement of existing systems. From early concept development through realization and validation, your contribution will be essential throughout the entire product lifecycle.You will be part of an experienced, multidisciplinary team of Systems Engineers with expertise in areas such as mechatronics, electronics, and software. Together, you will shape innovative solutions while further strengthening Systems Engineering within our organization.
Your main responsibilities
* Define and manage system requirements, architecture, and interfaces
* Guide technical decision-making across multiple engineering disciplines
* Ensure system designs meet performance, quality, and timeline objectives
* Connect teams and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions
* Contribute to the further development of Systems Engineering within Lely

Qualifications:

You are someone who enjoys bringing clarity to complex technical challenges. You combine analytical thinking with a collaborative approach and thrive in an environment where innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement are central.
You will likely recognize yourself in much of the following:
* A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Control Engineering, or a related technical field
* Extensive experience in product development within a high-tech environment
* Experience applying Systems Engineering in a multidisciplinary setting
* A solid understanding of multiple engineering disciplines, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, and control systems
* The ability to oversee complex systems and translate technical complexity into clear, effective solutions
* Strong communication skills and the ability to connect a wide range of stakeholders
* Fluency in English
