We're looking for a talented individual to join our Centre Management team as Deputy Shopping Centre Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a pivotal role within a vibrant, fast-paced environment, where you'll be at the heart of driving the centre's performance and future direction. Key Objectives
As part of the leadership team, you will help shape and deliver the centre's strategic plans, ensuring operational excellence across all departments. You'll build strong relationships with retailers, partners and community stakeholders, acting as a key ambassador for the centre. You will also champion our sustainability and BP2030 initiatives, positioning the centre as a leader in environmental and social responsibility. A core part of the role is inspiring and developing high-performing teams to deliver exceptional service and a best-in-class customer experience.

About Stadshart Amstelveen
Stadshart Amstelveen is entering a transformative phase. With a major redevelopment underway, the centre is being reimagined into a renewed and vibrant retail and leisure destination serving Amstelveen and the south of Amsterdam. The asset is undergoing significant upgrades in concept, image, customer journey and retail mix, including the introduction of new brands and additional retail units. This is a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role in a flagship asset at a decisive moment in its evolution. What you will be doing…

Business Development and Planning:
* Support the GM in leading the centre through its redevelopment phase, ensuring business continuity and commercial resilience.
* Support annual business plan development and execution, focusing on OPEX, CAPEX, and strategic deliverables.
* Collaborate with Finance and department heads on budgets, forecasts, and service charge management
* Identify financial opportunities, prepare business cases, and present recommendations.
* Collaborate with Leasing, Marketing, Westfield Rise, and Development teams to continuously elevate centre standards and ensure an exceptional customer experience remains at the heart of every initiative
* Collaborate with Finance, Operations Management, and department heads to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, ensuring effective management of the centre's service charge
* Ensure effective leadership of all departments to meet contractual obligations, deliver budgets, and maximise operational performance.
* Lead on operational asset enhancement projects to ensure Stadhart Amstelveen position and continues to set the benchmark for centre standards
* Work with all departments to shape and deliver the Customer Content Strategy (CCS), ensuring initiatives boost footfall, enhance revenue, and foster meaningful connections with the local community

Stakeholder Management:
* Build strong relationships with retailers to ensure operational standards are met and introduce initiatives that enhance customer service and drive performance.
* Develop and maintain strategic networks with community leaders, businesses, institutions, and government representatives to position the centre as a market leader.
* Assist the GM in representing Stadhart Amstelveen in media interactions, stakeholder meetings, and retailer engagements.

BP2030:
* Support the General Manager in delivering the Long-Term Energy Action Plan (LTEAP) to achieve net-zero energy and carbon targets and EPC A by 2030.
* Drive LTEAP actions through effective capital planning.
* Lead the team to implement and development of the centre's Better Places Certification (BPC), Mobility Action (MOBAP) and Welcome Audit.
* Contribute with the Community Resilience Action Plan, positioning as a Stadhart Amstelveen sustainability leader and fostering social responsibility among retail partners.
* Collaborate with Marketing to develop a strong B2C communication strategy highlighting BP2030 initiatives and achievements.

Management and Team Leadership:
* Support the General Manager in leading Centre Management teams to drive high performance and foster a positive culture for all employees and contractors.
* Ensure direct reports effectively manage teams to deliver business objectives and uphold brand values.
* Collaborate with department heads and HR to implement training and succession plans, ensuring continuity and reducing turnover.
* Lead process reviews to identify cost efficiencies across all contracts.
* Proactively contribute to company procedures and manuals, including crisis management, H&S, contractors' manual, rules & regulations, incident reporting, manual handling, COSHH, control room operations, duty management, Disability -Discrimination Act and Data Protection

Compliance:
* Act as Duty Manager and manage crisis escalation when required, ensuring compliance with business protocols.
* Support the General Manager by overseeing centre operations and enforcing all policies and procedures outlined in the Health & Safety Management Plan.
* Ensure full compliance with the Centre Health & Safety Policy.
* Partner with the Head of Risk to maintain and improve ISO45001 and ISO14001 certifications.


What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?

* 2-3 years' experience in a shopping centre, operating, asset management or in Marketing
* Knowledge and interest in Retail
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Basic knowledge of real estate investment
* Experience of customer focus
* Strong analytical and strategic skills
* Strong project management skills
* Very good skills in English
* Very good skills in office programs, i.e. Excel and PP
* Desired background:
* Experience from leasing and sales
* Leadership experience
