Application Builder, Ring

Ring is looking for an Application Builder to help build the next generation of experiences in the Ring app. You will work on emerging features and ship native code alongside engineers who are actively adopting AI across the development lifecycle.

As a Builder on this team, you will work on foundational and emerging experiences in the Ring app - the surfaces customers touch every time they open it, and the new capabilities we are bringing to them next.

This is a role for someone who wants to go deep on native mobile development - modern Kotlin or Swift, the latest platform APIs, and clean architecture - with a primary depth on Android and the ability to contribute on iOS where the work requires it. You will also work alongside engineers who are actively adopting AI across the development lifecycle, and you will be expected to use those tools well - not as a novelty, but as a real lever to ship better software faster.

Key job responsibilities
You will:
- Design, build, and ship features for the Ring app, working primarily in Android and contributing on iOS where the work requires it
- Write high-quality, well-tested code with performance, reliability, and maintainability in mind
- Use AI-powered development tools effectively across your day-to-day work: code generation, test authoring, code review, debugging, documentation, and defect resolution
- Contribute to the evolution of the team's architecture, identifying friction points and proposing improvements
- Collaborate with product, UX, backend, and platform partners to deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences
- Help maintain operational excellence - resolving issues, fixing bugs, and improving observability
- Participate in design and code reviews

A day in the life
As a Builder on this team, you will:
- Ship Android or iOS code that powers experiences customers rely on every day
- Apply modern AI-assisted workflows to write, test, review, and debug code more effectively
- Work on emerging features where reliability and clarity are part of the product itself
- Partner with backend engineers to integrate with services and real-time data flows
- Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews with experienced engineers

Working on emerging features and fully owning some of the most visited experiences in the Ring app, our team is always looking to learn and innovate. We frequently collaborate with cloud, firmware, and other app teams to solve problems and delight our customers. We are data driven, value and promote ownership, and work backwards from our customers to bring them an innovative and seamless home security experience

Profil requis du candidat:

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Android mobile application development experience in Java and Kotlin
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
- Experience optimising apps for performance
- Experience writing testable code and automated tests
- Experience with REST architecture for web services
- Working knowledge of both Android and iOS platforms
- Experience adopting AI-powered development tools (AI-assisted coding, test generation, code review, debugging) in real production work

The minimum gross base salary for this position is listed below. The base salary listed corresponds to working on a full-time basis. For part-time hours, the salary will be pro-rated.
Amazon reserves the right to offer a higher base salary, depending on the candidate's skills, competencies, and experience. Amazon's package may include a sign on payment. In addition, the candidate may be eligible to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA.
Your recruiting team will share final salary and any restricted stock unit scheme if applicable, depending on skills and requirements.
