About the Role:
The HR AI Product Owner drives strategic AI adoption of agent technology across HR functions, establishing governance frameworks that enable scalable, responsible AI implementations while delivering measurable business value. This role serves as the strategic bridge between HR business needs and AI capabilities, ensuring AI initiatives align with organizational priorities and enhance both employee experiences and operational efficiency.
As the central authority for HR AI strategy, this position shapes how artificial intelligence transforms HR processes. The AI Product Owner establishes clear governance standards that enable innovation while maintaining compliance, security, and ethical AI practices across all HR technology initiatives.
This role drives digital transformation by identifying high-impact AI use cases, prioritizing investments based on strategic value, and ensuring successful deployment of AI solutions that advance HR's mission to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
What you'll do
* AI governance and portfolio management: Own the HR AI use case inventory and governance framework. Evaluate, prioritize, and approve initiatives based on business value, risk, and alignment with People & Culture strategy. Lead audits and continuous improvement.
* Platform strategy and control: Govern HR AI developments in Microsoft Copilot Studio and across platforms (Core Platform, MyAZ (Moveworks), Copilot). Define decision frameworks and guide where solutions should be built, ensuring interoperability and a cohesive employee experience.
* Standards and best practice: Create and maintain AI development standards, testing protocols, QA processes, and success metrics. Lead training and knowledge sharing to build AI fluency across HR.
* Risk, compliance, and ethical AI: Partner with Legal, Compliance, Security, and HRBPs to ensure privacy, fairness, transparency, and adherence to employment law. Establish monitoring for bias and maintain audit trails.
* Partnership and delivery oversight: Collaborate with the HR Process Automation Lead and HR stakeholders to review and approve AI-enabled automation use cases, ensuring alignment to governance and enterprise AI standards.
What you'll need
* Technical foundation: Strong understanding of AI/ML, especially conversational AI and NLP; hands-on with Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Platform, plus familiarity with similar enterprise AI platforms.
* Integration mindset: Knowledge of API integrations, data architecture, and enterprise system landscapes; experience aligning AI solutions with HRIS platforms such as Workday or SAP SuccessFactors.
* Governance and leadership: Experience in AI governance, program management, or technology leadership; ability to define standards, manage portfolios, and influence across a matrixed organization.
* Experience level: Typically 2+ years in HR technology/AI/ML/digital transformation and 3+ years in governance, program management, or technology leadership. Equivalent strong experience considered alongside formal education.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, or related field; Master's preferred.
