About the role

We're looking for a skilled and reliable Handyman to join our UKCS Scotland business, based at our site in Inverness. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, helping to ensure buildings, facilities and external areas are kept safe, functional and well maintained.

You'll work both independently and as part of a wider operational team, taking pride in delivering a high-quality service and maintaining excellent standards across all works

What you'll be doing

* Carrying out general building maintenance and repair works to internal and external areas

* Completing carpentry tasks including door, window, lock and glazing repairs

* Undertaking basic plumbing repairs and unblocking toilets and drains

* Carrying out plastering, tiling and stud partition repairs

* Completing temporary repairs to flooring, including carpets, lino and screeds

* Repairing suspended ceilings, shelving and racking

* Completing minor roof, paving, brickwork, render and drainage repairs

* Clearing gullies and drains

* Maintaining accurate records, reports and weekly timesheets

* Providing out-of-hours call-out support on a rota basis when required

* Completing method statements and risk assessments for site activities

* Overseeing site safety and ensuring all works comply with health, safety and company procedures

* Working in line with current health and safety legislation and safe systems of work, including chemical storage

Who we're looking for

* City & Guilds or NVQ qualified in a relevant trade

* Completed a recognised apprenticeship with post-apprenticeship practical experience

* Proven experience carrying out general handyman or building maintenance works

* Ability to work independently, manage workloads and prioritise tasks effectively

* Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy

* Good communication and interpersonal skills

* Flexible approach, including willingness to work overtime if required

* A proactive team player with initiative and a positive attitude

* PVM and Telehandler tickets are desirable but not essential
