Software Engineer
Location: Glasgow - hybrid working

Help us create a better future, quicker
ScottishPower is part of the Iberdrola Group, one of the world's largest integrated utility companies and a global leader in renewable energy. As the first integrated energy company in the UK to generate 100% green electricity, we are focused on accelerating the transition to a cleaner, electric future. Within our Customer Business, we support millions of households and businesses across the UK, continually evolving our digital and broadband propositions to deliver reliable connectivity and great customer experiences.

What you'll be doing
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Centre of Excellence, working on Front Office and Call Centre technology with a strong focus on broadband customer journeys. This role plays a key part in the systems that enable customers to order, manage and receive broadband services across both voice and digital channels. You'll be involved in business-critical platforms that sit at the heart of how we engage with and support our customers.

In this role, you'll design, build and support software solutions spanning broadband sales, provisioning, fault management and customer support. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, analysts, operational teams and third-party suppliers, contributing across the full software development lifecycle to deliver solutions that are resilient, scalable and secure. A strong foundation in modern engineering practices is essential, including experience with languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Java or Python, building and consuming RESTful APIs, and working confidently with SQL for analysis and troubleshooting.

What you'll bring
Experience within broadband or telecommunications environments will be valuable, particularly where you've worked with sales, provisioning or service assurance systems. Familiarity with contact-centre or telephony platforms such as Genesys, along with experience integrating CRM systems with external broadband or network providers, will help you succeed. You'll be comfortable working across complex, multi-party integrations and diagnosing issues in live environments.

Success in this role comes through delivering stable and reliable broadband journeys for customers, creating well-designed and reusable APIs, and reducing incidents through effective root-cause analysis. Just as importantly, you'll contribute to a collaborative culture, working closely with engineering colleagues, operational teams and suppliers to continually improve the services we deliver.

If you're motivated by solving real-world problems at scale and want to contribute to the future of digital and broadband services within a purpose-driven organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

What's in it for you
As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we'll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.

At ScottishPower, we believe it's the little things we do in life that make a big difference. From helping you look after your family's wellbeing, save for your future and take personal steps for climate action - our benefits are designed to help you do just that - so that you have everything you need to take care of your world - today and tomorrow. That's why our benefits include:
