About the role
Sellafield Project | Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick (BBK)
Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick (BBK) is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to support our work on the Sellafield site, contributing to one of the UK's most critical nuclear infrastructure programmes.
This is an opportunity to be part of a high-performing team delivering complex mechanical piping systems in a safety-critical, quality-driven environment, where precision, professionalism and collaboration are key.
As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for the installation, fabrication, maintenance and repair of mechanical piping systems, ensuring all work is completed to exacting standards and in full compliance with safety and quality requirements.
You'll work closely with other trades and project teams, contributing to safe, efficient delivery while upholding BBK's right-first-time culture.
What you'll be doing
* Install and assemble mechanical pipework and fittings in line with drawings, specifications and industry standards
* Fabricate pipework including cutting, threading, bending and welding using appropriate tools and equipment
* Carry out maintenance and repair activities on existing piping systems to ensure safe and reliable operation
* Inspect and test installed systems, identifying and resolving issues to meet quality and safety standards
* Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used and any issues encountered
* Strictly adhere to site and company health, safety and environmental procedures
* Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers and other trades to support programme delivery and meet project milestones
Who we're looking for
* Level 3 Apprenticeship in Engineering Construction - Pipefitter Standard or
Diploma in Installing Engineering Construction Plant and Systems - Pipefitting or
ECITB Diploma in Installing Engineering Construction Plant and Systems - Pipefitting (SCQF Level 6)
* Valid ACE Card
* Time-served Pipefitter with a recognised apprenticeship
* Ability to obtain BPSS clearance
