Cost Consultant - MEP (Healthcare Sector)

At Mace we are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about cost and commercial management. We are looking to recruit a Cost Consultant with knowledge of MEP who has a mix of property and infrastructure sector experience. This is to provide full cycle cost management services for ongoing commissions and projects.
You'll be responsible for:
* Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project.
* Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
* Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
* Representing Mace to clients, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages.
* Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract.
* Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients.
You'll need to have:
* Previous experience working in a cost and commercial management position for a construction consultancy. (Preferred, not essential)
* Knowledge of MEP and experience working in multiple sectors.
* JCT/NEC form of contract experience essential.
* Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience.
* Knowledge of contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
* Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration
* Knowledge of value engineering and life cycle costing.
* Understanding of industry best practice.
* Understanding of hot topic issues such as Sustainability, Social Value, Carbon Reduction impacting Public Sector.
* Capex V Opex Cost Analysis/advice.
* A degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent.
* Professional membership i.e., MRICS/RICS. (Preferred)
