We are looking for an experienced Mobilisation Lead to join our Defence team in Reading. This role is critical in leading the mobilisation of new and transitioning projects, ensuring that people, processes, systems, governance and operational arrangements are in place for a safe, compliant and successful go live.
You will work closely with internal teams, clients, suppliers and delivery partners to coordinate mobilisation activity, manage risk, maintain programme momentum and ensure a smooth transition into business-as-usual delivery within a highly regulated environment.
Note: Due to the security requirements of the role, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK security clearance.
You'll be responsible for:
* Managing the end-to-end mobilisation of projects and contracts, ensuring readiness for successful delivery.
* Developing and maintaining mobilisation plans, key milestones, and readiness activities.
* Coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver workforce planning, onboarding, security, IT readiness and site setup.
* Acting as the central point of contact for mobilisation activity, ensuring clear communication across stakeholders.
* Providing regular progress updates, managing dependencies, and escalating risks and issues as required.
* Identifying and managing mobilisation risks, assumptions, issues and change impacts.
* Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, governance requirements, and quality standards.
* Establishing robust processes, reporting frameworks and governance controls ahead of go-live.
* Supporting the transition and handover into delivery teams, ensuring operational continuity.
* Embedding lessons learned and continuous improvement practices into mobilisation activity.
* Building strong, trusted relationships across clients, suppliers and internal teams.
You'll need to have:
* Proven experience in mobilisation, transition or operational readiness within complex and regulated environments (Defence, infrastructure, engineering or similar)
* Strong project management and planning capability, with experience delivering against tight and sensitive deadlines.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence across organisations.
* Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining focus on delivery, compliance, and client satisfaction.
* Solid understanding of project controls, governance, reporting, and risk management.
* Relevant qualifications in project management or a related discipline (desirable)
