About the Digital Risk & Advisory team
This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and exposure in order to build a career within the Digital Risk & Advisory team as part of the Technology & Digital Business Unit. At Forvis Mazars, you will have the unique opportunity to work across a wide range of digital, data and technology-related risk areas, with a focus on IT Internal Audit, Technology Risk & Controls, IT Compliance, Data Protection & GDPR, Data Governance, AI Governance & Responsible AI, Cloud & Technology Effectiveness and Digital Consulting. As a Junior Consultant within the national team, you will support the delivery of both digital risk assurance and advisory engagements to a range of clients nationally and internationally.
You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full digital risk lifecycle, including analysing client environments, assessing risks, evaluating control effectiveness, contributing to the development of practical recommendations and supporting advisory projects that help clients navigate digital transformation, regulatory change and emerging technologies. This role provides a strong foundation for building consulting capabilities such as problem-solving, communication, stakeholder engagement and delivering high-quality insights, alongside technical knowledge of digital and technology risk. * Responsibility for executing day-to-day digital risk and advisory work and reviews; including contributing across the entire delivery lifecycle, from planning through to reporting
* Testing the design and operating effectiveness of IT, data protection, data governance and AI governance controls, and supporting the development of practical, value-adding recommendations, and ensuring all work is undertaken to budget and meets client KPIs
* Initial drafting of client deliverables including reports, working papers, recommendations, presentations and stakeholder briefing materials. assist in facilitation of workshops, interviews, walkthroughs and discussions with stakeholders across various levels of client organisations
* Supporting the delivery of transformation and change programme assurance including governance reviews, risk assessments and control analysis and contributing to insights
* Supporting technology effectiveness, cloud maturity, resilience and IT service management assessments and contributing recommendations based on best practice
* Client management; acting as a point of contact for both the service leads and the client, ensuring all are kept fully informed of any issues arising and the progress of the work
* Supporting advisory engagements by analysing client challenges, exploring root causes and contributing to the development of tailored, actionable solutions aligned to client objectives
* Conducting research and analysis relating to digital risk, regulatory developments, emerging technologies, digital transformation and industry best practice to inform outputs
* Delivering work to the highest technical standards including ensuring work is conducted in line with Forvis Mazars Quality standards
* Clearly understanding the wider service line capabilities of the department and the wider firm and how these may benefit your clients, particularly in identifying and supporting cross-service opportunities
* Supporting the Digital Risk & Advisory leadership to manage specific streams of work and staff in the work stream, including both assurance and advisory engagements
* Maintaining control and stability under pressure whilst recognising the deadline or urgency to be dealt with
* Contributing to internal methodologies, templates, tools, knowledge repositories and best-practice materials for Digital Risk & Advisory services
