Internship in the field of test steering systems, test field, measurement technology from September 2024

The employees at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Hamburg develop, plan and produce in five core areas:
Axles and axle components, steering columns, electric drives as well as exhaust technology components and lightweight structural parts. Pioneering technologies such as modern assembly techniques and the combination of hydroforming and plastic injection molding have been further developed at the site for series production.
You will work in the field of testing in the development of steering systems. As part of your work, you will have the opportunity to get to know related specialist areas and interfaces.
These are some of the challenges you will face:
* Accompanying the test engineer
* Familiarization with the measurement technology and evaluation software used in the steering systems test field
* Accompanying complex test series for control element testing
* Participation in the planning, tracking and implementation of existing and new test scopes
* Evaluation and documentation of internal and external tests (e.g. vehicle crash)
* Participation in the procurement and production of new prototypes and sample structures
* Accompanying benchmark and patent analysis during the implementation of new system units
* Planning and development of extensions to existing system and module units in the test field

Qualifikationen

* Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, physics or a comparable course of study
* Proficient in written and spoken German and English
* Confident handling of MS Office
* Commitment and ability to work in a team
* Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
* Motivation, manual dexterity and communication skills
