Introduction

At IBM Quantum, we embrace an agile development model and apply DevSecOps principles to ensure security is embedded at the core of our development process. Every new feature undergoes a security review - a systematic assessment of potential risks and open issues before deployment.

Your Role And Responsibilities

# Your Mission

As an intern, you will analyze our current security review process and design a concept to automate key aspects of it. This includes exploring the integration of artificial intelligence, policy-based approaches, and other innovative solutions - evaluating their benefits and trade-offs. You will collaborate closely with the security team and product development teams to deliver a streamlined, automated process that enhances productivity and strengthens security across the organization.

# What You'll Do

* Review and understand the existing security review workflow.
* Design and implement automation concepts for selected steps.
* Investigate AI-driven and policy-based solutions for security assessments.
* Work cross-functionally with security and development teams to ensure practical adoption.

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

* Python programming - or similar
* Software development fundamentals
* Basic understanding of security principles

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

* Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
* Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application in automation
* Experience with policy-based security frameworks
* Understanding of risk assessment methodologies
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
