About Us
The Quantitative Trading Internship at RWE Trading Services Australia Pty Ltd offers a unique and immersive opportunity to explore the world of quantitative trading. Based in our Melbourne office, this program enables interns to closely observe our traders in action, leveraging decision science, game theory, and cutting-edge technology to drive trading strategies.
Our structured education program seamlessly integrates classroom instruction with hands-on trading desk experience, offering a comprehensive foundation in trading principles. This program is designed to equip interns with a deep understanding of market dynamics and help them evaluate trading as a potential long-term career.
What You'll Do
* Apply probability, statistics, and mathematical creativity to high-impact trading projects over the 6-month program.
* Collaborate with researchers, traders, and technologists to transform quantitative models into actionable trading strategies.
* Engage in an industry-leading training program covering option theory and modelling to lay the groundwork for a successful career in quantitative trading.
What You Bring to the Team
* Pursuing a Master's or PhD in Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between April 2025 to September 2025.
* Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills adaptable to fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
* Proficiency in Python programming.
* Self-motivation, resilience, and a passion for working in competitive, high-stakes environments.
* A keen interest in financial markets and a drive to explore innovative methodologies in trading.
* Strong communication skills to effectively convey insights and collaborate within a team.
