We are looking for a motivated and curious AI Co-op Student to join our team and support our ongoing efforts to explore, develop, and integrate Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) into our IT solutions. The individual will work closely with team members to analyze use case, experiment with AI tools, and contribute to innovation in a real business context.

This role requires the co-op student t to work within tight timelines, with competing priorities and evolving requirements. In an effort to foster collaboration and partner with clients, co-op students will be required to be in the office multiple times a week at our 150 Commerce Valley Drive West office in Markham.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Assist in identifying AI/ML use cases within our organization (e.g., predictive analytics, intelligent automation, natural language processing).
- Explore and prototype AI solutions using tools such as Python, Azure/OpenAI, HuggingFace, Gemini, CoPilot, LLMs etc.
- Support data preprocessing, cleaning, and analysis to feed models or evaluate feasibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, business analysts, developers) to define AI requirements and evaluate outcomes.
- Prepare documentation, reports, training material and presentations on AI findings and recommendations.
- Stay current on AI trends, tools, and best practices relevant to our industry.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related undergraduate program.
- Knowledge of Python and libraries like Pandas, TensorFlow, or PyTorch + Java.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts such as supervised/unsupervised learning, NLP, or computer vision.
- Experience with tools like Jupyter, Git, or cloud services (Azure, AWS, etc.) is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Good communication and documentation skills.

Nice to have:

- Exposure to generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, LangChain).
- Experience working with APIs, Java and web services.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI, matplotlib).

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $18-32/hour. This role is an existing vacancy.
