The Operations and Investments team sits within the Operations and Investments Management Section in the Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) in the Division of External Relations (DER).
The Operations and Investments team coordinates the annual planning process and overall financial planning, monitoring, and reporting on performance in the PSP fundraising network of UNHCR offices and National Association Partners. The team is responsible for managing the National Growth Fund, which is the main source of investment in PSP fundraising programmes, and for coordinating PSP's Quarterly Business Review (QBR). The Operations and Investments team also supports the PSP network in monitoring implementation and fundraising performance.
The position
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive team player, with a strong interest in resource management, reporting, data analysis, and refugee issues, to complete a six-eight months internship with the Operations and Investments team.
Duties and responsibilities
The intern's duties and responsibilities will include:
* Assist in data quality and assurance activities, with a focus on PSP's Annual
Implementation Plans and Quarterly Reports.
* Assist in resource management activities, supporting the monitoring of implementation rates and budget reallocation processes. Assist in budget implementation planning, monitoring, and reporting tasks to generate insights and analyses.
* Provide support on financial matters related to National Association Partners, including the preparation of agreements and disbursement documentation, as well as ad hoc analytical tasks requested by the Unit and PSP management.
* Assist in the development and revision of internal and external guidance documents by capturing key procedures and drafting instructive guidelines.
* Assist in the planning and execution of in-person and digital meetings and events led by the Operations and Investments team, draft meeting minutes whenever necessary.
* Provide any other required support, including procurement and administrative support, to the team and the wider Section.
Minimum qualifications required
The ideal candidate will:
* Possess a university-level degree in a relevant field, for example Social Sciences, Business and Economics, International Relations, etc.
* Be fluent in English, with advanced writing and editing skills
* Have advanced experience using the Microsoft Office suite, with particular attention to advanced experience using Microsoft Excel
* Have strong analytical and organizational skills
* Have design and document formatting skills and be detail-oriented
* Be tech-savvy and have a keen interest in budgeting, reports and fundraising
* Show a genuine desire to learn and adapt
* Possess strong inter-personal skills and be a keen team-player.
In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
* Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO1; and
* Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR2;
* Not have exhausted the maximum cumulative internship period with UNHCR, including any prior internships (8 months for full-time and 12 months for part-time).

Desirable qualifications and skills
* Experience with online content and knowledge management platforms and SharePoint
* Knowledge of a second UN language (Arabic/Chinese/French/Russian/Spanish)
* Good knowledge and understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques.
Conditions
It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). The successful candidate will be assigned to support the team in Copenhagen.
Allowance: Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to partially help to cover the cost of food, local transportation and living expenses.
Travel: Unless provided or paid by external sponsoring entities, UNHCR reimburse interns engaged from a location outside of the country of the duty station for the ticket costs of their outward and return travel to/from the duty station by the most economical route available on economy class, irrespective of the duration of the journey. Reimbursement shall be limited to the authorized outward and return travel between the intern's country of residence and the intern's duty station, or actual route of travel, whichever is lower.
Before travel is undertaken, the selected intern must obtain authorization in writing from the hiring office. Such authorization must include the approved cost of the ticket.
Duration: Internships normally last two to six months with the possibility of extension up to eight months for full-time internships and twelve months for part-time internships.

Acquiring and renewing current visas, residence permits including all associated costs, obtaining medical certification and compliance with taxation requirements (if applicable), are the responsibility of the intern.
The selected candidate will need to provide UNHCR with a proof of health insurance coverage applicable to the assigned internship location and a certificate of good health from a qualified medical practitioner certifying their fitness for work and travel. In the event the selected candidate is not able to produce the required certificates, they will not be admitted to the Internship Programme.
