[What the role is]Established in 1988, Tote Board is a statutory board of the Ministry of Finance. As a broad-based grantmaker, Tote Board strives to achieve its vision of "A Caring and Resilient Singapore" by providing grants to support projects that encourage healthy lives, create empowered communities, foster a cohesive society and make Singapore a liveable home.
[What you will be working on]
Working alongside the Planning & Performance Department within the Grants Division, the intern will support projects to refine Tote Board's grantmaking strategies, policies and frameworks to create meaningful social change through impact giving.
This includes:
* conducting a research scan for emerging trends across six non-profit sectors in Singapore (i.e. community development, social service, arts and culture, health, education and sports);
* analysing best practices on how local and global philanthropy organisations design, measure and articulate programme impact using various impact measurement practices, frameworks and methodologies;
* developing recommendations on how Tote Board can enhance its grantmaking strategies and sharpen the Tote Board Impact Measurement Framework to better support effective and impactful programmes; and
* any other tasks/projects as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as Social Science, Political Science or a related discipline
2. Demonstrate proficiency in the following:
* Strong conceptual and synthesis skills;
* Critical thinking and analytical skills;
* Planning and organisational skills; and
* Communications and stakeholder engagement skills.
Learning Outcome:

* strategic planning and policy, at the intersection of the public policy and non-profit space
* navigating Singapore's social impact ecosystem and the global philanthropy landscape
* stakeholder engagement and professional collaboration.
