The Position
The Pharma Technical Operations (PT) Global MSAT & Engineering (PTT) group takes bold steps to modernize technical operations to enable Roche to deliver medicines for patients more quickly, efficiently and reliably. PTT shapes and accelerates technology innovation and product lifecycle management for tomorrow, while standardizing and driving operational excellence in PT today. The Pharma Technical Operations (PT) Direct Materials Team drives the modernization of materials and their application to technical issues across PT. In partnership with key stakeholders such as development, regulatory and manufacturing, the team manages the material release and supplier specifications. The internship centers on Process Improvement and Standardization, where intern will be support the specification team in implementing key enhancements and leading standardization initiatives for direct materials (e.g. chemicals, single use technology, medical devices, packaging etc.).
The Opportunity
You will be mentored by senior experts and will support to drive specific improvement initiatives related to direct materials specifications:
* Process Management: Gain first-hand experience in recognizing the importance of continuous improvement and integrating ongoing enhancement activities into regular business operations
* Materials Management: Learning more about the world of materials management from supplier specifications to material release and usage internally at manufacturing sites
* Project Leadership: Develop practical skills in how to effectively structure, plan, and drive smaller-scale projects from conception to completion
* Stakeholder Relations: Learn advanced techniques for managing diverse stakeholders and internal customers, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration between global teams and manufacturing sites
* Global Communication: Master professional communication standards and successfully navigate interactions within a global structure while interacting with manufacturing sites
Who You Are
* Must be a recent graduate (within the last 12 months) with a degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry, pharmacy, engineering or similar background with a proven record of academic achievement and relevant technical coursework.
* Knowledge of material properties/management and regulatory requirements (e.g. FDA, SwissMedic, Health Canada, ICH) is an asset.
* Demonstrates technical and analytical thinking with the ability to propose creative solutions to compliance or documentation challenges.
* Basic skills in project planning and stakeholder management.
* Proficiency in common digital platforms (MS 365 and Google Workspace).
* Self-structured, highly proactive, and result-oriented team player who seeks opportunities to drive improvements.
* Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills in English for clear internal correspondence and stakeholder engagement.
* Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is an advantage.
