[Intern] Software Engineer for AI model training and SRE - MFG & TPG

The intern will support Manufacturing IT and Yield Management systems through initiatives focused on AI-driven automation, system reliability, and application performance optimization. This role provides hands-on experience with production systems by working with engineers to analyze historical data, improve system observability, and enhance shared service efficiency.
The intern will assist in applying AI techniques to enable automation and intelligent insights, such as image recognition, data-driven labeling, and recommendation capabilities, helping reduce manual effort and improve process consistency. In parallel, the intern will support system reliability engineering efforts by developing metrics, dashboards, and alerts to improve system stability and incident visibility.
The intern will also gain exposure to application performance optimization by reviewing shared service components, identifying performance bottlenecks, and supporting improvements such as caching mechanisms within .NET-based services.

Requirement
* Educational background in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Solid programming fundamentals; experience with Python is required, and C# experience is a plus.
* Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, including supervised/unsupervised learning, model training, and evaluation.
* Hands-on experience training a basic deep learning model; familiarity with PyTorch (preferred) or TensorFlow / Keras.
* Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration; understanding of OAuth or token-based authentication is preferred.
* Exposure to AI-enabled automation approaches such as multi-modal models, clustering techniques, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) is a plus.
* Experience or strong interest in system monitoring and observability; familiarity with Grafana, Splunk, or Azure Application Insights is highly desirable.
* Good English communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to clearly explain technical ideas.
* Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
