Job Description

Old Mutual, Zimbabwe's largest diversified financial services group is inviting applications from recent graduates to participate in a 24 months' Legal and Governance Graduate Trainee Programme. Successful applicants will undergo training within the Old Mutual Group and gain experience in the following practices: -

Responsibilities

Legal Documentation & Analysis
* Drafting contracts, NDAs, service agreements, and other corporate documents with accuracy.
* Reviewing agreements with attention to detail and negotiating terms with stakeholders.
* Conducting legal research with focus on laws, regulatory changes, and case precedents.
* Preparing legal opinions and briefs with clarity for internal use.

Corporate Governance Support
* Preparing minutes for board and committee meetings with precision.
* Coordinating board meeting logistics with timely delivery of agendas, packs, and filings.
* Implementing governance frameworks with adherence to company policies.

Compliance & Risk Management
* Monitoring regulatory and legislative updates with proactive reporting.
* Supporting compliance frameworks with internal audits and risk assessments.
* Assisting due diligence for transactions, mergers, and regulatory reviews with thoroughness.

Administrative and Stakeholder Engagement
* Maintaining legal and governance records with strict compliance to statutory requirements.
* Liaising with external counsel and regulators with professionalism.
* Providing documentation support during audits, litigation, and enforcement processes with accuracy.

Policy Development & Training
* Drafting and updating internal policies with alignment to governance standards.
* Organizing compliance and governance training sessions with effective coordination.

Reporting & Documentation
* Preparing management reports with comprehensive legal and governance insights.
* Submitting statutory returns and regulatory filings with punctuality.
