Within our department you will work on a Tier 1 application which directly works with Airlines and Customs around the globe.

Summary of the role:

We are looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer to join the Travel Data Capabilities (TDC) and contribute to two strategic, business-critical platforms:
* P2C Automation - accelerating the automation of flows and monitoring frameworks that underpin revenue-generating processes which directly link to customs in over 70 countries.
* Publisher OBE - designing, implementing, and evolving the next generation of Publisher capabilities, including real-time processing, evolution, Kafka/streaming improvements, and DevOps by design.

This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in complex distributed systems, automation, and end-to-end ownership

In this role you'll:

A. P2C Automation (initial focus)
You will be responsible for strengthening and extending automation initiatives in the P2C domain, including:
* Designing and implementing automation scripts, frameworks, agents, and workflow orchestration.
* Improving system reliability, observability, and alerting.
* Reducing manual operations through smart automation.
* Supporting the migration of legacy components into modern, cloud-ready architectures.

B. Publisher OBE Development (progressive focus)
Once ramp-up is complete, you will join the OBE Publisher stream to:
* Develop high-performance, scalable services enabling near real-time data publishing.
* Engineer resilient data flows leveraging Kafka, microservices, and internal Amadeus streaming technologies.
* Design storage strategies, and event-driven patterns aligned with product and compliancy requirements.
* Implement unit, integration, performance, and reliability tests.
* Diagnose and resolve production issues in collaboration with our SRE and platform teams.

C. Natural DevOps Responsibilities
As part of our culture of ownership:
* Participate in the sheriffing and on-call rotation (reasonable roster).
* Own CI/CD pipelines and promote continuous improvement.
* Contribute to performance monitoring, dashboards, incident analysis, and root-cause prevention.
* Document system behavior, domain knowledge, and best practices.

About the ideal candidate:

* You are a software engineer with numerous years of experience (6+) -equally comfortable discussing data flows and business rules as you are reviewing logs or improving a CI/CD pipeline.
* You thrive at innovation and technical engineering, and you enjoy owning solutions end-to-end.
* You can translate business needs into robust designs, ensure data quality across complex journeys, and collaborate with other engineers.
* You bring curiosity, accountability, and a passion for building high-quality, scalable and observable systems.
* Experience with large-scale projects will make you successful in this role, as well as a genuine interest in understanding how Amadeus' travel ecosystem operates.
* You are a team player who communicates clearly, acts with ownership, and continuously looks for ways to improve processes, resilience, and customer outcomes.
