Apple is seeking an experienced European Regulatory Compliance Expert to help advance Apple's objectives across wireless, radio, and emerging technology domains within EMEIA. This role will focus on shaping regulatory discussions with European institutions, national regulators, and standards bodies - ensuring Apple's technology and innovation priorities are represented in key regulatory and standards forums.
This role represents a unique opportunity to shape how Apple engages with Europe's evolving technology landscape - from future wireless technology standardisation to the next frontiers in AI and data regulation. The successful candidate will help Apple continue building trusted relationships with regulators, while ensuring Europe remains a region that enables innovation, privacy, and user-focused technology development with key responsibilities aligned to:- - Expand Influence with Regulators: Explore and develop new avenues to deepen Apple's engagement and influence regulators across the EMEIA region. - Stabilise Key Relationships: Strengthen and sustain Apple's relationship between the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), CEN/CENELEC, the European Commission, and other relevant regulatory and Standards bodies, fostering alignment and mutual understanding. - Shape the Standards Agenda: Drive influence and coordination within ETSI and other European bodies in the domains of Wireless Technology/Digital Infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence, Data, Cybersecurity, and Quantum Technologies, ensuring Apple's technical and policy positions are accurately reflected. - Promote Apple in the EU: Support public consultations, and technical policy discussions, to advance Apple's interests at the EU level. - Collaborate Across Functions: Work cross-functionally with Apple's engineering, legal, and government affairs teams to influence emerging wireless technologies, digital standards and R&D whilst ensuring coordinated policy positions across technical and regulatory areas.
Degree or National Technical Certificate in electrical engineering Experience engaging with European regulators, standards bodies (e.g., ETSI, CEPT, CENELEC), or EU institutions. Familiar with European telecommunications regulations, and standardisation frameworks. Experience influencing or contributing to policy, regulatory, and standard development in areas such as wireless technology/digital infrastructure, AI, data governance, cybersecurity, or quantum technology. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear policy positions. Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across global teams and time zones.
Advanced degree in Engineering or related field preferred. Extensive experience engaging with European regulators, standards bodies (e.g., ETSI, CEPT, CENELEC), or EU institutions. Deep understanding of European telecommunications regulations, and standardisation frameworks. Proven track record influencing or contributing to policy, regulatory, and standard development in areas such as wireless technology/digital infrastructure, AI, data governance, cybersecurity, or quantum technology. Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear policy positions. Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across global teams and time zones
