EHS Consultant - Netherlands

ERM is seeking a motivated EHS Consultant to join our team in the Netherlands. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who is passionate about driving change in both processes and behaviors, and who is committed to delivering high-quality Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) solutions to our clients.

You will be part of ERM's Safe and Sustainable Solutions (SSO) team in Belgium and the Netherlands (BeNe)-a dynamic and growing group of EHS professionals supporting a wide portfolio of industrial clients. The team is recognized for its strong on-the-ground expertise, partnering closely with clients to deliver practical, solution-oriented support across operational EHS challenges. Working within SSO means being embedded in client environments, driving continuous improvement in safety culture, compliance, and sustainability performance, while collaborating with ERM's broader network of technical experts across the region.

As part of our consulting team, you will support the delivery of EHS services across the region, working alongside experienced subject matter experts on a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities

You will contribute to the successful delivery of EHS projects by supporting a variety of activities, including:
* Supporting the execution of EHS diagnostics, audits, and compliance assessments, ensuring high technical standards
* Providing technical assistance in EHS audits and site assessments
* Contributing to the development of EHS standards, permitting documentation, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and technical reports
* Supporting the integration of sustainability initiatives into client operations
* Assisting in the development of risk assessments, health & safety procedures, and related programs
* Supporting the delivery of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timelines
* Preparing high-quality deliverables under the guidance of senior consultants and subject matter experts
* Collaborating with Partners and Project Managers to support effective project execution
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships through clear communication and professionalism
* Working collaboratively with ERM colleagues across teams and geographies

Skills & Experience

* Strong communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation and effectively convey complex ideas
* Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and drive in a consulting or industry environment
* Ability to manage priorities and contribute effectively within project teams
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships internally and externally

Qualifications

* BSc or MSc in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Safety, or a related discipline
* 2+ years of relevant experience, either within a consulting environment or in an industry role with significant EHS exposure
* Fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
* Solid business acumen, with the ability to understand client challenges, risks, and opportunities
