Location: Caldas da Rainha
What will be your responsibilities:
* End-to-end mechanical and electrical integration of ISTAR mission-aligned payloads such as Gimbals, Radars, Satcoms, Radios and other mission-related payloads onto the aircraft.
* Constant prototyping and validation of ideas and concept
* Define and document the physical and logical interfaces between the aircraft and the mission sensors.
* Design and oversee the manufacturing of custom mounts, wiring harnesses, and cooling solutions for mission payloads.
* Ensure that high-power mission sensors (like maritime radars) do not interfere with the aircraft's navigation or communication systems.
* Participate and oversee ground and flight testing to troubleshoot sensor performance and data link reliability in real-world conditions.
Profile and requirements:
* Academic background in Physics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
* 2-5 years of experience in design, integration and implementing related systems;
* You are comfortable working across domains - multidisciplinary
* Technical Toolkit:
* 3D CAD proficiency (Solidworks, Catia, or similar)
* Knowledgeable about fabrication methods like 3D printing, machining and molding
* Hands on experience with electronics (multimeters, oscilloscopes, and PCB troubleshooting)
* Exposure to communication protocols in embedded systems (CAN, RS-232/422, i2C and related ones)
* Experience with drone building (valued)
* Advanced knowledge in Portuguese (C1) and English (B2)
