Job TitleBiometrics Product Manager
The Biometrics Product Manager is responsible for defining, developing, and scaling biometric and digital identity products used across the travel and border control ecosystem.
This role sits at the intersection of airline and airport operations, security and border control, identity management, and passenger experience, leading the product lifecycle from strategy and roadmap through delivery and market adoption. The role requires a deep understanding of biometric technologies (face, fingerprint, iris), anti-spoofing technologies such as presentation attack detection (PAD), identity verification, interoperability standards, and the regulatory frameworks that govern border control and international travel.
Key Responsibilities
1.Product Strategy & Vision
Define the product vision and roadmap for biometric and digital identity solutions across airports, airlines, border agencies, and government authorities; translate diverse use cases into clear product requirements for solutions such as self-service kiosks and e-gates; align strategy with international initiatives, for example International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Digital Travel Credential (DTC), International Air Transport Association (IATA) One ID, and the European Union (EU) Entry/Exit System (EES).
2.Product Development & Delivery
Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle-discovery, requirements, development, launch, and continuous improvement-while writing and maintaining product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria; collaborate with engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), user experience (UX), hardware, and systems integration teams; balance accuracy, speed, security, privacy, and operational performance.
3.Stakeholder & Customer Engagement
Serve as the primary product point of contact for airports, airlines, border control authorities, and system integrators; gather feedback from real-world operations (check-in, boarding, immigration, and security checkpoints); support pre-sales activities, Requests for Proposal (RFPs), demonstrations, and customer workshops with deep product and domain expertise.
4.Regulatory, Privacy & Compliance
Ensure compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), privacy-by-design principles, and local data protection laws; incorporate border control regulations, government procurement considerations, and certification requirements; partner with legal, compliance, and security teams on risk assessment and audits.
5.Ecosystem & Integration
Define Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and integration strategies with airline Departure Control System (DCS), airport Airport Operational Database (AODB) and Flight Information Display System (FIDS), government systems, and identity platforms; work with partners and standards bodies (for example, ICAO, IATA, and EU agencies) to drive interoperability across multi-vendor, multi-stakeholder environments.
