Job Description:
What happens when mission-critical EW electronics return from the field and need fast, technically sound decisions to get them back where they belong?
At Leonardo, our Production Support Engineers play a vital role in sustaining the Electronic Warfare systems deployed across fast jet, UAV, land and naval platforms. Working within our EW sector, you'll support the delivery, sustainment and recovery of complex digital electronic products, operating in a technically challenging environment where quality, traceability and turnaround really matter.

What you will do as a Production Support Engineer:
* Carry out serviceability testing, fault diagnosis and repair on complex electronic hardware, including Defensive Aids Sub-Systems (DASS) and other EW products.
* Support production delivery and return-to-service activities, ensuring products meet performance, quality and contractual requirements.
* Perform routine calibration, maintenance and operation of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).
* Work closely with your Support Manager and the Integrated Project Team to understand and prioritise repair and support activities.
* Investigate and resolve technical issues across electronics, test and integration boundaries.
* Ensure all work is fully documented, configuration-controlled and compliant with engineering governance and quality processes.
* Operate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to collective problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* Support compliance with SHE, training and good engineering practice in a production environment.
* Travel to other Leonardo sites for work and training where required.

What you'll bring
This role suits technically capable electronics engineers who are comfortable working with real hardware under real delivery pressure.

Essential experience and capability:
* Diploma level (or higher) qualification in Electronics, or equivalent practical industry experience.
* Proven experience in production, sustainment, manufacturing support or repair of electronic systems.
* Hands-on experience fault-finding and repairing complex electronic assemblies.
* Confidence working under broad direction with minimal supervision in technically demanding environments.
* Experience managing multiple tasks in pressurised delivery environments while maintaining quality.
* Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience working within structured engineering and governance processes.
* Willingness to travel to company sites for work and training as needed.

Valuable (but not essential):
* Experience supporting EW, defence or aerospace electronics.
* Familiarity with technical diagnostic test equipment and associated software tools.
* Experience operating or supporting ATE systems.

How this role grows with you
This is a role where technical credibility and reliability drive progression.
* Initially, you'll build deep familiarity with EW electronic products, test approaches and production support processes.
* As experience grows, you'll take ownership of more complex fault investigations, influencing repair strategies and escalation decisions.
* Senior engineers become trusted technical points of contact within production and sustainment teams.
* With experience and judgement, progression opens into Principal and Lead Production Support, specialist sustainment roles, or transitions into design, manufacturing or other engineering pathways.
* Growth is driven by problem-solving capability, delivery under pressure and trust earned with stakeholders.
