About the Role
As Tank Farm and Components Area Manager, you will lead a sophisticated and busy operational area, running the day-to-day challenges of a high-performing FMCG manufacturing environment to deliver safe, high-quality products to plan.
With a strong understanding of current and future demand on your area, you will lead Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams to achieve world-class performance across Safety, Quality, Service and Cost, aligned to the site's balanced scorecard.
You will champion strong governance and compliance, ensuring conformance to all regulatory, accreditation and CARM requirements, and play a key role in achieving successful GAR audit outcomes.
You will be a visible leader, spending around 50% of your time on the shop floor, role-modelling disciplined adherence to standards and driving rapid issue resolution through structured problem solving.
You will lead MMS deployment across performance, standards, capabilities and asset care, working closely with Engineering, Site Leadership and ManEx to deliver continuous improvement.
Accountable for asset performance, reliability and elements of the R&M budget, you will develop and deliver operational, budgetary and capital plans that support long-term site and business strategy, while building highly capable, engaged and motivated teams.
About You
You will bring a degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience), ideally in an engineering or science-related discipline, along with NEBOSH certification and leadership experience in a FMCG manufacturing or production environment.
You have a strong understanding of processing, packaging and plant technologies and are a proven advocate of manufacturing excellence, with demonstrable experience using MMS tools, systemic root-cause problem solving methodologies (such as 5 Whys and DMAIC) and leading large, multi-disciplinary teams through change.
You are a highly effective coach with a strong track record of developing capability, engagement and performance, underpinned by sound financial acumen and excellent communication skills.
Passionate about standards, safety and people development, you lead decisively, never walk past non-conformance, and empower others to take ownership and deliver breakthrough performance. You are comfortable operating at pace in a complex environment, proficient with standard business systems and Diageo tools, and committed to continuous learning and development for yourself and your teams.
