We are currently seeking a Software Engineer to take responsibility for designing, developing, and maintaining products that support Sage's business plans and long-term objectives, using the identified architecture.
As a Software Engineer at Sage, you will work closely with product teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality software solutions, help shape the technical direction of our products, and design, develop, and deliver products, systems, and services that exceed the expectations of customers and business partners.
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in our Barcelona office.
Responsibilities
Develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality software, including requirements, design, code, and documentation.
Contribute to quality activities, including peer reviews of estimates, designs, and code.
Resolve defects and bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.
Work cross-functionally with various Sage teams, including product management, QA/XD, product lines, and business units, to drive results.
Ensure code and architecture meet high standards for quality, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability, following best practices.
Manage the full software development lifecycle, from gathering requirements and designing solutions to testing and deployment.
Requirements
Extensive hands-on experience in one or more backend languages (e.g. Java, Ruby, Python, Go, Kotlin, Scala, or similar).
Proven success in building and delivering complex web applications and services.
Strong expertise in software design, coding, and problem-solving, with a solid understanding of data structures.
Knowledge of modern development practices, including CI/CD, Agile, and DevOps.
Experience with Java or Ruby is a plus.
Experience developing AI-driven solutions and working in a SaaS environment is beneficial.
