* The work involves reviewing compiler implementations for inefficient algorithms, repeated computation, poor data-structure choices, fragile edge-case logic, and unnecessary complexity, then proposing or prototyping targeted fixes with measurable evidence.

* The ideal candidate combines strong compiler engineering judgment with practical validation skills, producing prioritized findings, documented tradeoffs, and high-value improvements rather than broad speculative refactors.
