Role description:
This role will form an integral part of our Global Excellence Centre (GEC). The GEC is comprised of more than 3,000 talented individuals working in offices across Romania, India and the Philippines. The GEC provides Capability, Capacity and a Competitive Advantage across a wide array of unique projects and services, in collaboration with our global businesses.
The MEPF Team (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) is a cross-functional team delivering innovative building services solutions that enhance energy efficiency, sustainability, and occupant comfort. Through collaboration with global teams, the GEC plays a key role in project delivery using advanced and innovative approaches, including computational design.
As a Mechanical Intern Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers in a supportive learning environment. We will teach you how to apply mechanical engineering principles in real projects, use industry-standard tools, and contribute to high-quality design deliverables.
Role Accountabilities:
Under the supervision of experienced engineers, we will teach you how to:
* Support the engineering design of ventilation, heating, and cooling systems for building projects.
* Assist in preparing engineering calculations, sketches, schematic designs, 3D models, and working drawings for different project phases.
* Use and build proficiency in Revit and other mechanical design and calculation software.
* Assist in preparing technical reports and presentations as directed by senior engineers.
* Follow company standards, procedures, and design quality-check processes.
* Manage assigned tasks within agreed timelines and budget while working in a structured project environment.
* Apply safety-in-design principles ensuring system accessibility, maintainability, coordination, and buildability are integrated into your design decisions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Mandatory
* Be currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, building services, or a related field.
* Basic familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD (training will be provided where needed).
* Fundamental understanding of mechanical systems for buildings gained through coursework.
* Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
* Willingness to learn new tools, systems, technical skills and ways of working.
* Basic awareness of relevant codes, norms, and standards.
* Demonstrates good planning, organization skills, curiosity, problem-solving ability, and analytical thinking.
* Interested in long-term professional growth within an engineering consultancy environment.
Nice to have
* Exposure to Revit MEP or other relevant software through coursework or training.
* Academic projects or internships related to mechanical design for buildings.
* Interested in automation, digital tools and innovative engineering solutions.
