Department Intro

The Data Center SSD Firmware team develops firmware technologies that support solid-state storage solutions for data center applications, contributing across multiple stages of product development and technology evolution.

Position Overview

This internship provides the opportunity to support firmware engineering activities within a defined and focused scope related to Data Center SSD products or development processes. The scope may focus on a specific development area, phase, or innovation or staging activity, under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

* Support firmware engineering activities in the context of specific product or process needs related to Data Center SSD development.
* Contribute to technical tasks within a defined area of the development lifecycle or a focused innovation or staging activity, under guidance from experienced engineers.
* Assist with analysis, experimentation, and implementation activities aimed at understanding firmware-related challenges or exploring new technical approaches within the assigned scope.
* Apply and progressively adopt engineering best practices, tools, and development processes while contributing to assigned objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

* Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* Basic programming experience in C or similar low-level programming languages through coursework or academic projects.
* Fundamental understanding of embedded systems concepts.
* Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and development processes.
* Good written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Academic or personal projects involving embedded software or firmware development.
* Exposure to computer architecture, operating systems, or storage concepts.
* Familiarity with C++, Rust, or interest in learning additional programming languages.
* Interest in SSD, NAND flash, PCIe, or NVMe technologies.
* Organized, proactive, and motivated to learn in a team environment.
