This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

Our Global Internship Programme in Innovation & Sustainability (#IP2TIS) offers a unique opportunity for passionate individuals to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry while making a positive impact on the world.

Are you ready to join a global network spanning 20+ countries, where bright minds collaborate to tackle real-world challenges in Innovation & Sustainability? Do you want to work on impactful projects, shape the future, and drive change from within?

The Position

As an intern, you will contribute to The 4-Hour Challenge, a project focused on transforming multidisciplinary care for hemophilia patients in Panama. The project aims to redesign a fragmented care journey into a one-stop clinical pathway that brings six specialties together in a single 4-hour visit, reducing barriers to care and improving long-term adherence. Within your first 3 months, you are expected to help map the current patient journey, track wait times and care durations, collect patient experience feedback, and translate findings into a practical workflow blueprint. You will also support the development of a simple Excel dashboard and help assess how this model could later be applied to high-volume non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and visual health complications. Your work will contribute to a more patient-centered, efficient, and sustainable healthcare model with the potential to influence broader system change in Panama.

The Opportunity

* Work in coordination with the head of the hemophilia unit at CSS, to develop a blueprint, to fulfill the The 4-Hour Challenge aspirations for all patients.
* Shadow hemophilia patients and clinical staff across six multidisciplinary stations to map the current patient journey
* Track and record station waiting times and care durations to identify operational bottlenecks without requiring access to sensitive health records
* Develop and implement a short patient satisfaction survey to assess the experience of the new 4-hour clinical visit
* Collect and analyze qualitative and operational data to understand how efficiency improvements affect patient experience and access to care
* Synthesize observations and findings into a practical, step-by-step workflow blueprint for the hematology department
* Create a streamlined and user-friendly digital tracking dashboard for the clinic's Head Nurse
* Support the live launch of the 4-hour protocol as an on-the-ground flow coordinator, helping troubleshoot real-time bottlenecks
* Conduct a rapid feasibility assessment on how the one-stop model could be adapted to high-volume non-communicable diseases

Who You Are

You are currently enrolled in Bachelor's studies at a university, preferably in the field of Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Systems Engineering and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months.

Furthermore you are
* Knowledgeable in process mapping, workflow analysis, time-and-motion studies, and process improvement; familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma is an advantage
* Able to collect operational data and translate findings into clear, actionable reports and practical workflow recommendations
* Highly proficient in digital tools and able to create intuitive dashboards for non-technical users
* A strong communicator who can work professionally with patients, nurses, and medical specialists in a clinical environment
* Empathetic, proactive, organized.
* Fluent in Spanish and English.

If you meet most but not all qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.

Additional information

The internship is expected to start between 1 and 16 July 2026 and will last at least 3 months.
