Job Description
Finance Shared Services delivers essential business support activities to BAE Systems Inc.'s business units across the United States. Our comprehensive services include:
* Administration and processing for Travel and Expense, Charge Card Administration, and Accounts Payable
* Management of Time Entry reporting and processing
* Payroll processing and management
* Cash Applications and customer support
* Training Finance partners on policies and procedures
* Providing data analysis and insights to inform business decisions
* Vendor management and coordinationWe are seeking an intern to join our team reporting to the Process Automation Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Day-to-day management of expense report automation routines, ensuring seamless execution and optimal performance
* Developing and implementing reporting solutions to drive business insights and process improvements
* Continuously identifying opportunities for process enhancements and automation, driving efficiency and effectiveness
As an intern you will participate in our nationwide Internship & Co-Op Program, LEAP, where you will have the opportunity to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. This is an internship during the summer of 2026, and interns should expect the duration to be 10-12 weeks. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of Finance Shared Services and make a meaningful impact on our business operations:
Key Responsibilities:
* Track and report on daily, weekly, and monthly automation metrics to inform management and drive process improvements decisions.
* Ensure that automation solutions meet quality standards. Perform testing and quality assurance activities as needed.
* Analyze business processes to identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement more efficient processes.
* Develop, test, and deploy automation solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and integrate with existing systems.
* Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing automation solutions, troubleshooting issues and making updates as needed.
* Document automation solutions, including design, development, and testing processes, and maintain knowledge management systems to ensure that automation solutions are properly documented and supported.
* Design, develop, and maintain reports to support business decision-making, using data from various sources, such as databases, data warehouses, or external data providers.
* Develop, test, and deploy reports, including scheduled reports, ad-hoc reports, and data visualizations.
* Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
* Performs other related duties, as required.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications(Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
* Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Must be able to work independently.
* Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
* Bachelor's degree in business or other related field from an accredited college.
* Demonstrated experience in performing accounting services in a government defense contractor that is governmentally regulated and compliant organization, specifically with DCAA oversight.
* Familiarity with large-scale ERP systems such Oracle and Costpoint.
* Experience in a finance shared service with a call center environment.
* Service Now case management.
* Strong ability to scale from transactional details to high level strategic thinking.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $41142 - $55587
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
