Position Summary
The HAF Division, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, is seeking Lean Engineer intern that will be responsible for learning and developing lean and quality concepts/principles by studying and planning operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines, and facilities where decisions are made within the limits of general practices and policies. Interacts with more experienced lean and quality professionals to manage and follow through on independent projects.

Responsibilities
The duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

* Assist with Lean activities utilizing engineering background.
* Assist in establishing operational methods and work standards using measurement techniques (i.e. time studies, balance charts, process map)
* Assist with Kaizen events by establishing course of action to accomplish task and/or project.
* Assist in developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining quality standards for products and processes.
* Provides statistical information for quality improvement by gathering data on trends and root cause analysis.
* The activities may be shared between Quality efforts and Lean Manufacturing improvements.

Qualifications
The minimum qualifications required include, but may not be limited to, the following:

* Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher at an accredited 4-year college or University
* Currently enrolled in an Industrial or Mechanical Engineering program
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing and quality concepts/principles
* Member of associations relating to degree or discipline (i.e. AME)
* Strong work ethic demonstrated through past experiences
* Hands on and mechanical inclination demonstrated through past experiences
* Excellent verbal and written communication; project management experience preferred
* Must be able to work 30 - 40 hours a week in the summer
* Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
