Position Summary
The HAF Division, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer intern that will assist in location engineering activities that support process improvement of the business unit. Be a driving force for continuous improvement of the facility while working with all levels of the organization. Interns will be provided with training and mentorship that will translate to real-world skills and experiences.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the assistance of determining and developing production processes for manufacturing operations - to drive the reduction of non-value-added activity and support improved process flow through improved design of equipment and methods.
* Evaluate existing processes and to configure manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve safety and sustainability, and develop best practices within the production process
* Ensures plant is actively engaged in Continuous Improvement activities and driving sustainable results
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications required include, but may not be limited to, the following:
* Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher at an accredited 4-year college or University
* Currently enrolled in an Industrial or Mechanical Engineering program
* Must be able to work 30 - 40 hours a week in the summer
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing and quality concepts/principles
* Member of associations relating to degree or discipline (i.e. AME)
* Strong work ethic demonstrated through past experiences
* Hands on and mechanical inclination demonstrated through past experiences
* Excellent verbal and written communication; project management experience preferred
* Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
