Descrizione del lavoro:

Background/Organizational Context The World Bank Group's (WBG) Global Unit for Urban, Subnational Finance, Tourism, Disaster Risk Management, Policy Regulation (KIUPR) supports operational teams in countries across the disaster risk management (DRM), urban development, and land management agendas. A core part of the unit's offer is a set of scalable solutions: tested operational approaches and tools that can be deployed across contexts. As the unit sharpens its operational offer for fragile, conflict, and violence-affected (FCV) countries, there is growing recognition that FCV settings require tailored approaches: standard DRM, urban, and land interventions often need to be adapted to account for weakened institutions, constrained implementation capacity, political fragility, displacement dynamics, and the particular vulnerabilities of conflict-affected populations. This work is also directly relevant to the WBG's renewed FCV strategy, which places particular emphasis on economic recovery and job creation as pathways out of fragility. Understanding how DRM, urban, and land operations in FCV settings have engaged with the jobs agenda and private sector development will help ensuring the unit's offer is well-aligned with this strategic priority. While the Urban, Resilience and Land portfolio includes a substantial number of operations in FCV settings, the evidence base underpinning what works, and how interventions need to be designed differently in these contexts, is dispersed across project documents. Consolidating this evidence into a structured resource would allow the global team to respond more effectively to requests from task teams seeking examples of similar activities and solutions from comparable contexts. Duties and Responsibilities Under the supervision of Lara Loussert, Junior Professional Associate in KIUPR, and in collaboration with colleagues working on DRM, urban and land, the intern will: *Conduct a systematic review of WBG project documents (PADs, ICRs, evaluations, and knowledge notes) to identify operations in FCV settings with DRM, urban resilience, and land activities. *Build and populate a structured, searchable repository (Excel-based) of individual activities and components implemented across these operations, organized by thematic subcategory, including but not limited to: *DRM: flood management, hydromet, early warning systems, preparedness and response, building regulations, structural retrofitting, institutional strengthening *Urban: urban planning, urban resilience, informal settlements, urban infrastructure *Land: land tenure, land administration, land use planning, property rights *For each activity captured across these three thematic areas, systematically extract and record the following dimensions: key outputs; implementation arrangements (including use of UN agencies, NGOs, and other third-party implementers); when applicable: links to jobs and income-generating activities and private sector engagement; results framework indicators, implementation challenges, lessons learned, and good practices. *Where applicable, apply or support the application of AI-assisted methods for document analysis to improve the efficiency and scalability of the review. *Ensure the repository is structured in a way that allows the global team to filter, update, and expand it over time as new operations are completed
