Job Summary and Qualifications
The Marketing & Corporate Affairs Intern supports the Division's communications, marketing, and community engagement efforts across our hospitals. This role offers hands on experience inside a leading healthcare organization, giving students the opportunity to build a professional portfolio, strengthen core communication skills, and contribute meaningfully to division priorities.
Interns work full time (8-5) with occasional travel to facilities as needed. They collaborate closely with facility based M&CA leaders and the Division team to support storytelling, brand stewardship, colleague engagement, and community visibility.
What you will do in this role:
Communications
* Assist in developing content for internal and external channels, including newsletters, intranet posts, social content, and basic PR drafts.
* Monitor hospital and market news and synthesize insights to support messaging and strategic planning.
* Support colleague engagement communications by drafting updates, gathering inputs, and shaping leader ready messages.
Community Engagement
* Support community engagement activities such as event preparation, logistics, and materials.
* Assist with colleague engagement initiatives including Hope Fund activities, giving campaigns, and volunteer efforts.
* Help coordinate local events and programs aligned with division and hospital goals.
* Gather community insights to inform storytelling and engagement strategies.
Marketing
* Support local brand management tasks such as reviewing signage, collateral, and digital assets for accuracy and proper logo use.
* Assist with activation of local marketing strategies under direction of facility and division M&CA leaders.
* Help manage hospital collateral (brochures, rack cards, flyers) including inventory, organization, and updates.
* Assist with content needs by gathering information internally and organizing assets for MSO supported materials.
General Support
* Assist with project coordination across communications, marketing, and community engagement.
* Maintain organized files and resources for content, events, and brand assets.
* Support administrative tasks tied to M&CA strategies and objectives.
* Participate in meetings and take notes to support alignment and follow up.
Interns will gain experience in:
* Professional writing and editing across multiple formats.
* Digital content creation and channel specific messaging.
* Brand and reputation management fundamentals.
* Event planning and execution in a healthcare environment.
* Research and insights synthesis to support strategic decisions.
* Project coordination and workflow management.
* Exposure to executive communications and leadership messaging.
* Understanding how a large healthcare system communicates across diverse audiences.
Interns will leave with tangible work samples, including:
* Published writing (newsletters, intranet posts, social content).
* Event materials and recaps.
* Community engagement stories.
* Brand audits or communication summaries.
* Project coordination artifacts (timelines, briefs, summaries).
What qualifications you will need:
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
* Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
* Interest in healthcare communications, community engagement, or brand strategy.
* Ability to work full time (8-5) for the duration of the internship.
* Professionalism, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
