A memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience but with lack of transparency and a very bad career services.

I enrolled in the Master in Insurance & Risk Management (MIRM) program, this is by far my experience:

The most important point if you're a non-European student like me: The program is nice but it's quite unfair towards a non-European student. The career service is abysmal, incompetence and unprofessional, and the worst is that they will take care of the Italians and Europeans student first, and the left-over is for you. Although they advertise a very high percentage of employment (91%) if you plan to use the program as a platform to find internships/jobs in Europe. It's gonna be very tough for you and the chance you land a job in Europe may be less than 10%.

However, if you decide to spend to one year in this program, you will have an unforgettable experience and a chance to learn so much about working/studying in an international environment. The class will generally consist of professionals from around the World, about 10-15 different countries in total. In addition, if you want to have a chance to improve your soft skill and management ability, the program offers the "Leadership Dynamics" program. However, in the event that you happen to be an introvert and technical, mathematical individual, you may find that the intensive leadership dynamics maybe so annoying to you.

In terms of the academic side, you will have the chance to learn a lot about insurance, enterprise risk management, compliance, how a financial services company work in general and a very tiny bit about actuary. This means that the program has no focus at all as it wants to appeal as many students as possible to collect more tuitions. It combines the three main disciplines: quantitative (math, actuary, engineer); qualitative (business writing, law, compliance) and management (business administration) together. Therefore, if you're looking for a chance to enlarge your experience and knowledge across different disciplines, this is for you, if you want to be laser-focus in one discipline, don't choose this program. Also, one plus point you will have the chance to learn about Solvency II, which is very important for the Insurance industry right now.

The teaching is quite bad as some professors are very boring and Italian English is quite sleepy and not so understandable -> will make you fall asleep most of the times during the lectures. However, the reading materials are quite good, some come from the top consulting firms (the big 4, or BBM) and so you can keep them for future reference.

The program is quite intensive and stressful. Most of the time you won't have time to rest. So be careful.

Having said all that, the program, in my opinion, is still very very interesting as it enhances your international experience and equips you with knowledge from opposite disciplines, which I think in today world is very useful. One final point, you will create friendships that you don't even think possible before.

Recomendaciones de cursos
There is a HUGE problem with this course (actually more than one)...they have a LOT of courses and try to cover ALL of them with in just 3 hours (and I mean 3 hours in total). Hospitality (hotels) have the most number of hours which is insane, the proportion is like 40% of all courses are hospitality 20% general management and then divided the 40% remaining between dozens of courses that they wish to teach but do not succeed. By the end of the course you have listened to soooo many teachers that you don't remember who said what anymore. Some of them don't even speak good english wich makes it really hard to follow. If you are interested in tourism (and not hospitality) forget about this master..it will get you no where...in fact many people in my class had to settle with jobs and internships they didn't want because the school has mainly HOTEL partners and were not able to find other kind of opportunities The exams! They are really unbelievable because no matter how much you study you will only pass them if you are able to find the most hidden answer in the book (I mean, powerpoint slides because we NEVER got any books to study from). All exams are open book, so the questions are really meant not to make you think but to waste time looking for a really really really hidden answer.
