GERMANY BRANCH MANAGER - OPENBANK

We are the 100% digital bank of the Santander Group and we are currently undergoing a technological transformation and international expansion process. We work in a start-up format, using agile methodologies to take our customers' experience to the next level. In 2019, we launched in the Netherlands, Germany and Portugal.

Mission and responsibilities:
As the Branch Manager, you will be instrumental in driving the success and growth of our bank in Germany. You will lead all operational aspects, develop and execute strategic initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will be pivotal in promoting and optimizing our Checkout Landing Platform product, integrating it seamlessly into our banking operations.
* Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with Openbank HQ CEO to define strategies for local markets and all business lines, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and sustainability.
* Regulatory Compliance: Manage local embedding of Corporate Frameworks, develop internal regulations, and ensure compliance with local standards and regulations while adhering to Group and Openbank HQ policies.
* Operational Oversight: Maintain a comprehensive view of all operations and business activities, ensuring adherence to compliance, HR, governance/legal, finance, IT/operations, risk, and control standards.
* Risk Management: Implement mechanisms to address material risks and issues arising from business activities, while operating within agreed risk appetite.
* Governance and Control: Uphold common governance and control standards, including reporting, formal governance, and performance management.
* Stakeholder Management: Represent the Branch locally and manage relationships with regulators, internal and external auditors, ensuring timely remediation of recommendations.

To be successful in the role you must have:
* Proven experience in retail and consumer banking, with a minimum of 15 years in progressively responsible roles, including leadership positions.
* Previous responsibilities include P&L ownership across multiple products, building and managing high-performing teams, driving commercial strategy while managing risk effectively and establishing robust processes. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, drive business growth, and achieve financial targets.
* Strong understanding of the German banking industry, regulatory environment, and market dynamics.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Demonstrable experience of building a business line from a low base. Worked in a managerial role in a high growth company.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
* Fluency in both English and German is required (Spanish optional) .
