Your Role And Responsibilities

* This position is offered by IBM Japan.

You will join the Software Innovation Lab, a core organization within IBM Software that leads the development of advanced AI technologies. As a member of the global Agent & Automation team, you will contribute to the development of new capabilities that drive IBM's next-generation AI software.

The mission of our technical development is to advance automation through AI Agents. However, our target is not the automation of individual tasks such as document creation, programming assistance, or meeting note summarization.

Instead, we focus on high-value enterprise systems that support critial social and industrial infrastructure. These systems require continuous, large-scale engineering efforts, which is spanning software development, system modernization, security, and compliance operations. Our goal is to leverage cutting-edge AI Agent technologies to enable complex, human-in-the-loop automation that has historically been difficult or impossible to achieve.

You Will Participate As a Member Of Real Project Teams And Contribute To The Development Of New Features In Areas Such As

* AI-driven innovation in enterprise software development
* Automation of infrastructure and platform operations through AI Agents
* Automated compliance management for enterprise systems
* AI-enabled support for enterprise system modernization

Period：3 months in 2026 (Can be negotiated)

Time：9:00～17:36 (default)

Reduced working hours can be negotiated.

Place: Hakozaki (Tokyo)

Daily Salary

18,000yen (for master's)／20,000yen (for doctoral students)(in case housing allowance is unnecessary)

24,000yen (for master's)／26,000yen (for doctoral students)(including housing allowance)

Daily commuting cost will be paid.

Transportation cost to come to Tokyo is *not* separately paid.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Skills & Knowledge:

・Fundamental programming skills

・Ability to read technical documents in English and engage in basic English conversation

・Ability and willingness to proactively learn and apply new technologies and domains

Language Skills

・English communication skills, including email communication and participation in conference calls

Technical Expertise

Preferred technical and professional experience

・Expertise in software engineering

・Knowledge and experience with programming languages used in enterprise applications (e.g., Java, COBOL)
