Position Location: Hutchinson ABS is seeking a VIE to fill the position, VIE Product Development Mechanical Engineer. This position reports to the Engineering, Design, & Development Director and works for the Application Team Leader. The position is in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. We design and manufacture in three locations with Grand Rapids established as corporate headquarters and technology center. The Grand Rapids is the technology center for AVS. The corporate headquarters for AVS is a full-service design, test, and manufacture of anti-vibration components for automotive ICE engines, BEV, PHEV, and anti-vibration bracketry for mounting accessory items. Processes you will find here are Rubber Mixing, Rubber Injection, Plastic Injection and complex automated assembly. Poste et missions : The Product Development Engineer is responsible for leading the design and development of new products from initial request for quotation (RFQ) through all phases of development. This role ensures that products meet customer specifications, functional requirements, and cost targets while supporting internal teams and maintaining technical communication across departments. Mission: Lead the design of new products from concept through development, starting with RFQ and continuing through launch. Translate customer specifications into robust, cost-effective designs that meet functional requirements. Provide technical guidance to Designers and CAE Engineers to ensure timely and accurate project execution. Develop detailed designs, engineering prints, specifications, prototypes, and test plans. Actively participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, including reviews of timing, components, suppliers, molds, production processes, and cost considerations. Implement changes to assemblies and component parts to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance performance. Serve as the primary technical liaison between the customer, Hutchinson sales, and internal departments. Execute tasks assigned by the Program Manager and Project Team Leader in alignment with project goals. Perform other duties as assigned to support product development and organizational objectives

Candidate Requirements:

Specialization : Mechanical Engineering Level of education : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Technical skills : - Proven experience in product design and development, preferably in an automotive or manufacturing environment. - Strong understanding of engineering principles, CAD tools, and design for manufacturability. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams. Strong Math, Statistical, Report Writing, Data Collection and Analysis. Spoken languages : English
