Apprenticeship (12 months) - Client Services, Onboarding & Operations (CIB) | Role purpose This 12-month apprenticeship is designed for recent graduates to build a strong foundation in Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) operations. You'll support client servicing, onboarding and lifecycle service events for Corporate Banking clients, ensuring accurate updates to key data attributes on core systems-critical due to downstream impacts on products, services and regulatory obligations. * * * Principal responsibilities 1) Client service & stakeholder management * Manage day-to-day client related service events through the lifecycle of a client's relationship with HSBC (Corporate Banking lines of business). * Act as a focal point of contact for clients and internal colleagues; work with various middle/back offices to ensure smooth delivery of client solutions. * Deal independently with email/telephone enquiries from customers and liaise with HSBC departments/branches to resolve queries/issues. * Provide timely responses to client queries and proactively follow up on outstanding matters. * Support Relationship Managers/Client Managers by undertaking ad hoc tasks assigned. 2) Onboarding, lifecycle events & core system updates (data quality focus) * Process instructions to add, amend, cancel or close existing products/services and complete associated administration activities. * Update and maintain key client/product data attributes on core systems with strong accuracy and attention to detail, recognising downstream impact to other products and services, operational processing, regulatory services and reporting 3) Operational controls, risk & compliance * Ensure processes and procedures followed are aligned to relevant internal and external rules, regulations that apply to the conduct of the business, including adaptability to changes in process/procedure. * Support remediation activity relating to: * Customer Due Diligence (CDD) * Customer relationship servicing * KYC checks * FATCA/CRS/critical Data elements * Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and comply with Group Compliance Policy, including timely implementation of recommendations from internal/external auditors and regulators. * Protect sensitive customer and bank information by handling documents, systems and confidential matters in line with policy. 4) Team delivery & continuous improvement * Support planning and prioritisation of day-to-day services across the team to deliver in line with demand statements. * Support implementation of change programmes impacting the team/process. * Identify and progress service improvement and process improvement opportunities * Close the loop with stakeholders-confirm completion, share status updates, and log learnings. * Collaborate actively with internal stakeholders to orchestrate processes and ensure service excellence. * Demonstrate proactivity and self-initiation, working with limited oversight; support the team as a fungible resource when required. * * * Eligibility * Graduates who have recently completed their degree. * Available for a 12-month apprenticeship. * Comfortable working in a process-driven environment with high standards for accuracy and confidentiality. * * * Assessment criteria (what we'll evaluate) Must-haves * High attention to detail and ownership mindset, especially for core system updates and data integrity; ability to follow defined processes. * Clear written and verbal communication (email discipline matters here). * Ownership mindset: you track, follow up and close tasks end-to-end. * Comfort working with data and systems (Excel/Office basics; ability to learn internal tools quickly). * Strong communication and coordination skills; comfortable interacting with clients and internal departments. * Integrity, professionalism, and commitment to control standards and confidentiality. Nice-to-haves * Exposure to banking/financial services, operations, compliance, or client servicing (internships/projects). * Understanding of onboarding/KYC concepts (not required-curiosity and learning agility count). Impact on the business (what you'll enable) * High-quality, consistent service delivery for an assigned portfolio of corporate clients. * Reduced operational and regulatory risk through accurate processing, strong controls, and disciplined data management. * Better client experience through timely query resolution and effective coordination across teams. * Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required. Additional Information * The tenure of the Apprentice will be 1 (one) year as defined under Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992 amended from time to time. * All Apprentices engaged by the Bank will also be featured in NATS portal as an 'Apprentice'. By virtue of them being covered under the provisions of the Act, a candidate profile will be created for each apprentice in the NATS portal, which will be available to them for viewing. * On completion of the one-year Apprenticeship tenure, a Certificate of Proficiency will be issued to the apprentice by the Govt. of India, as applicable under the Act and the enrollment under the Apprenticeship Act will cease. * All other clauses regarding the tenure of engagement as an Apprentice with HSBC will stand as mentioned in the offer letter issued by the Bank at the time of joining. Qualification: Graduation is must Pro-tip : Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage. You'll achieve more at HSBC.
