Developer Co-op
Location: Ottawa, ON
Duration: 8-16 months (for co-ops) | 8 months (for interns)
Start Date: May 4th, 2026

About this opportunity:
Are you ready to shape the future of wireless technology? Join Ericsson's Radio Product Development team as a Software Developer Co-op and gain hands-on experience in developing cutting-edge 5G and Open RAN technologies. As a co-op student, you'll be immersed in feature development across systemisation, design, coding, and testing of radio platform software. You'll work in a dynamic Agile environment alongside cross-functional teams in systems, hardware, and software, contributing directly to the design and evolution of world-class radio products. We are especially focused on integrating artificial intelligence across all aspects of our daily work-including software development, testing, and troubleshooting-to drive innovation and efficiency.

What you will do:
* Develop production software, unit tests, and automated test systems for 5G radio and Open RAN platforms.
* Design and implement advanced test automation strategies using modern technologies, including AI.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues collaboratively during testing phases.
* Participate in lab-based software/hardware integration testing.
* Review and provide feedback on software designs and test plans.

The skills you bring:
* Currently enrolled in a B.Sc. or M.Sc. program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (preferably in the final year).
* Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and organized approach.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Experience with Linux development environments and proficiency in C/C++.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Familiarity with Java, especially for test automation.
* Interest or experience in AI-driven testing tools and emerging automation technologies.
* Basic understanding of wireless communication standards (5G, Open RAN).
* Knowledge of real-time or embedded software systems.
* Exposure to hardware components and system integration.

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

The salary range for this position is
* Bachelors: $25.50/hr - $34.50/hr
* Masters: $37/hr
