Position Description:

We are looking for a motivated Co-op student to join our Quality Engineering team to help bridge the gap between traditional testing and the future of AI. You won't just be running scripts; you'll be helping us build Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to determine how Generative AI can make software delivery faster and more reliable.

The WiSE (women in STEM excel) co-op program accelerates the development of future women leaders by providing a customized experience for participants:

* Participate in a week of onboarding and integration activities starting on your first day at CGI, activities include:
- Business etiquette workshop
- Foundations of business consulting workshops
- Developing your elevator pitch workshop
- Networking with peers across Canada

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $18-32/hour. This role is an existing vacancy.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

What You'll Do
* Build & Test: Develop and experiment with AI-driven prototypes (using LLMs, RAG, or Agentic workflows) to automate manual QE tasks.
* Evaluate Tools: Research and benchmark emerging AI tools to see if they meet our enterprise security and performance standards.
* Data Analysis: Analyze test data to identify patterns where AI can improve "Shift-Left" quality and defect detection.
* Collaborate: Work closely with senior engineers to document findings and present PoC results to leadership.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

* Technical Foundation: Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Engineering, or Math program.
* Coding Skills: Proficiency in Python (essential) and familiarity with frameworks like LangChain, OpenAI API, or Hugging Face.
* Curiosity: A strong interest in Prompt Engineering and how Large Language Models can be applied to real-world business problems.
* Communication: The ability to explain technical AI concepts to team members who may not be AI experts.
