Overview

The Quality & Laboratory Summer Intern supports the execution of site Quality and Food Safety programs, with a focus on laboratory testing, data collection, and compliance. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while supporting on-shift quality operations.

Location: Peterborough, Ontario
Compensation: $23.00-$37.00/hr

Shifts: Must be able to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities

* Assist with routine laboratory testing (microbiological, chemical, physical) and sample collection
* Record and maintain accurate lab data and quality documentation
*
Support HACCP, GMP, allergen, and sanitation program execution on shift
*
Assist with pre-requisite checks, inspections, and CCP verifications
*
Support product holds, investigations, and follow-up actions as required
*
Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab and quality areas
* Assist with audit preparation and ensure records are audit-ready
Qualifications

*
Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of related college/university program
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
* Interest in quality, food safety, and laboratory work
* Effective communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* Must be available for flexible, rotating shift work
