We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
About The Team
Tesla's Security Intelligence team is responsible for protecting the company's intellectual property of its products, services, and infrastructure from cyber threats. We are a team of security professionals who are passionate about staying ahead of threats and ensuring the security and integrity of Tesla's systems and data.
Responsibilities
* Partner with key stakeholders across the company to identify risks to sensitive IP and collaborate with cross functional partners to mitigate those risks.
* Support sensitive, complex, and confidential investigations into incidents of data loss and intellectual property theft, technology misuse, and conflict of interest.
* Partner with Legal and Human Resources and other investigative/analysis functions across the company to optimize IP risk reduction and investigations.
* Conduct highly sensitive, complex, and confidential investigations into incidents of data loss and intellectual property theft, technology misuse, and conflict of interest.
* Collaborate with technical forensic investigators to integrate technical and human investigations into one high efficiency function.
* Solve complex problems with data from multiple sources and make recommendations to leadership on the appropriate strategy.
* Participate in incident response activities.
* Be a member of a team working to identify, exploit, disrupt, or protect against any undermining of Tesla's business operations.
Requirements
* Currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Information Security, Security, Political Science, International Politics, or a related field of study with a gradation date between 2026 - 2027
* Willing to relocate and work on site in Lingang, Shanghai
* Experience of open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering and application to research or investigations
* Exposure to forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK (Forensic Toolkit), Cellebrite, or Magnet AXIOM is a plus.
* Experience with detection & response technologies (SIEM, EDR, CNAPP, NDR, NDIS/NIPS, SIGMA, YARA), security automation SOAR tools, IT automation, and/or custom automation methods is a plus
* Critical thinking, problem-solving & investigative mindset; ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
