Your role and responsibilities

As an Intern in our Cyber Security and Automation department, you will be part of securing critical infrastructure within energy supply, including power plants and district heating systems. You will gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle, from early design and tender phases to implementation and commissioning, while working closely with experienced colleagues.

At ABB, we have extensive experience working with interns, and our ambition in this area continues to grow. We believe that investing in students creates long-term value - both for their development and for strengthening our future talent pipeline.

We are looking for a motivated student who is eager to learn, develop, and contribute during their internship, while working on a meaningful final project such as an internship assignment or bachelor's thesis.

Our aim is to create a rewarding experience for both sides, where the internship may open opportunities for a continued journey with ABB. While this is not guaranteed and depends on both the match and business needs, we strive to build on the many successful internship paths we have seen in the past.

You will be supported by experienced specialists and have the opportunity to develop your skills within cyber security in industrial environments. The role also offers the possibility to work on a final project such as an internship assignment or bachelor thesis, depending on your study program.

Your responsibilities will include

* Design and support development of OT infrastructure for industrial environments.
* Configure and maintain firewalls, switches, and related network components.
* Support patching of servers and clients within critical infrastructure.
* Participate in testing, debugging, and validation of security solutions.
* Contribute to ensuring timely delivery of cyber security project tasks.
* Assist in documentation and implementation of security standards and practices.
* Collaborate with colleagues across projects and disciplines.
* Contribute to maintaining secure and reliable solutions for customers.

Qualifications for the role

* Currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering with relevance to cyber security or automation.
* Interest in cyber security within industrial or critical infrastructure environments.
* Knowledge of standards such as IEC 62443, ISO 27001, or NIS2, or willingness to learn.
* Understanding of networks, systems, and basic infrastructure components.
* Ability to communicate in both Danish and English.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Motivation to alternate between office work and on-site assignments.
