Job Description:

Work environment

Our Volkswagen plant in Kassel is the lead plant for transmissions and electric drives within the Volkswagen Group. In component development Kassel, interdisciplinary teams work on the design and optimization of electric drives, hybrid transmissions, and forward-looking transmission components. Our Acoustics and Simulation department plays a central role: using state-of-the-art simulation methods and innovative testing technologies, we drive the efficiency, robustness, and noise optimization of electric drives. During your internship, you will work closely on current development projects and make a direct contribution to the advancement of highly automated electric drive concepts. Apply now!

Possible tasks within this role

* Contributing to a cutting-edge topic in electromobility: automation of CAD models for hairpin stators
* Developing, parameterizing, and automating CAD geometries for electric drives
* Preparing and cleaning CAD data as a basis for high-performance simulation models
* Supporting the pre-processing of numerical simulations
* Independently researching technical literature as well as documenting and presenting your results in a structured manner

Qualification requirements

* Students (including those in a gap year) in mechanical engineering (focus on design) or a comparable field
* Good to very good academic performance
* Strong knowledge of CAD design
* Basic programming skills (e.g., MATLAB or Python)
* Experience with Creo, FreeCAD, Rhino/Grasshopper, or knowledge of ANSA (desirable)
* Analytical thinking and a structured way of working
