// YOUR MISSION AT PICUS
As a Working Student at Picus Capital in our Investment Team, you will play an active role in how we identify, assess and prioritize the most promising founders and early-stage companies across global startup ecosystems. You will be deeply involved in two core areas: Deal Sourcing and Founder & Business Model Assessment.
Driving High-Quality Deal Sourcing: You will help enhance the quality and scalability of our sourcing processes by identifying outstanding entrepreneurial talent early and leveraging insights from global ecosystems.
Your responsibilities include:
* Founder Identification: Systematically leveraging LinkedIn, university networks and founder communities to identify exceptional founders on a global scale
* Data-Driven Ecosystem Insights: Collaborating on data-driven initiatives to track and evaluate young entrepreneurial talent and emerging startup clusters
* Pattern Recognition: Refining our understanding of founder characteristics and early traction signals that correlate with strong long-term outcomes
Supporting Founder & Business Model Assessments: You will strengthen our sourcing and evaluation infrastructure by supporting the assessment of inbound and outbound opportunities and helping determine which founders and companies merit deeper engagement.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Startup Evaluation: Analyzing founder profiles, pitch decks and inbound deal flow across geographies, sectors and business models
* Founder Assessment: Identifying "Signs of Excellence," including clarity of thinking, pace of execution, ambition, founder market fit and prior track record
* Business Model Analysis: Assessing competitive dynamics, differentiation, early traction, product/market insights and alignment with our sector-specific investment hypotheses
* Investment Summaries: Preparing sharp, concise assessments and pitching your recommendations to the investment team in our weekly pitch meetings

Personality:
* You are an open, communicative and proactive person who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-learning, founder-centric environment
* You are curious, entrepreneurial, and passionate about understanding founders, business models, and new technologies
* You feel comfortable taking ownership, forming first hypotheses, and making structured recommendations
Analytical:
* You are currently pursuing a degree in Business, Data/Tech, Entrepreneurship, Economics, or a related field (ideally top 20%)
* You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and enjoy evaluating new ideas, markets and founder stories across the globe
* You bring a solid understanding of the startup ecosystem, early-stage business models, and venture capital fundamentals
* Familiarity with startup communities (e.g. TUM, LMU EC, Venture Labs, CDTM, Innovis, Accelerators such as YC) is a plus
* Very good proficiency in English

Our working student position is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in Deal Sourcing, Founder and Business Model Assessment, and Early-Stage Venture Capital. By the end of your time with us, you will have built strong foundations for future roles in VC, Startup Building, or Entrepreneurial Environments.
* Startup & VC Evaluation Skills: Learn how to quickly analyze business models, evaluate founders, derive key hypotheses and identify high-potential opportunities across industries and geographies
* Global Teamwork: Collaborate with a multicultural and interdisciplinary global team, learning to operate in a fast-paced investment environment spanning multiple continents
* Ecosystem & Founder Exposure: Engage with founders, experts and early entrepreneurial communities, building a strong understanding of what drives founders and early traction
