Job Description:
Introduction
The EUV Illumination and Dose Control Electronics Group develops advanced electronics for next-generation lithography systems in Veldhoven. As part of this team, you will help improve the reliability and performance of complex electronic systems used in high-precision machines. This internship focuses on analyzing and enhancing electronic designs and infrastructure. You will collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines to address real-world technical challenges. This internship gives you hands-on experience in a highly innovative environment.
Your assignment
The assignment is about extending commonly used electrical interfaces used in ASML scanners with a low cost signal integrity capability (e.g. TDR) provided by additional circuitry. This could remove the need for using special measurement equipment during problem solving. The assignment will include working with an external supplier, development of a prototype, developing hardware and software, potential tests with a scanner or lab setup and working out a final proposal how it could be used in ASML. Your main responsibilities will be:
* Investigate preventive maintenance concepts for electronic racks and modules
* Evaluate new standards for electronic rack designs
* Develop a prototype tool to estimate signal noise in cabling and connections
* Analyze system performance data to identify improvement opportunities
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate design ideas
* Document findings and present results to stakeholders
This is a bachelor/master non-thesis internship for 6 months, 5 days per week (5 days on-site). The start date of this internship is as of September 2026.
Your profile
To be suitable for the internship, you:
* Are pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field
* Have experience with electronic design and basic circuit analysis
* Have knowledge of embedded software concepts
* Are analytical and proactive in solving technical challenges
* Communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
* Analog and digital electronics. Software (e.g. Python, C).
Other requirements you need to meet:
* You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
* Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
* You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter needs to include the willingness to relocate.
* If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
