About the Team The security team at ByteDance is missioned to build infrastructures, platforms and technologies, as well as to support cross-functional teams to protect our users, products and infrastructures. In this team you'll have a unique opportunity to have first-hand exposure to the strategy of the company in key security initiatives, especially in building scalable and secure-by-design systems and solutions. As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience. Responsibilities: - Design and develop cloud-native security services and infrastructure such as Identity, Access Management, and Key Management System as a foundation for production infrastructure security. - Design and build large-scale detection and classification systems such as email spam classification systems, or risk-based authentication systems. - Identify areas of security weakness and find ways to minimize security risks

Candidate Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications - Undergraduate, or Postgraduate who is currently pursuing a degree/master in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or other STEM disciplines. - Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in one or more general purpose programming languages - Creative problem-solving skills and excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills - Strong written/verbal communication and excellent teamwork skills; flexible and be a self-starter Preferred Qualifications - Solid security background with good understanding of at least two security domains, such as data security, application security, cryptography, systems security, and network security By submitting an application for this role, you accept and agree to our global applicant privacy policy, which may be accessed here: https://jobs.bytedance.com/en/legal/privacy
